You cannot optimise search visibility once and walk away. It follows from relevance, availability and how well you serve the clients who find you.

Quick answer

Gig search and pricing, in brief

Improve relevance and package economics without keyword stuffing, price guessing or ranking guarantees. You cannot optimise search visibility once and walk away. It follows from relevance, availability and how well you serve the clients who find you.

What Fiverr says about search

Fiverr's search system weighs relevance, client satisfaction and personalisation, and it also looks at things like review scores, price, availability and responsiveness. Two clients see different results. The same client sees different results over time. Nobody can guarantee you a position. Not a freelancer, and not an outside "SEO expert" charging for one.

What you control is smaller and more useful: make the service match a real search, then deliver it well. Start from the words clients actually use rather than a list of high-volume terms.

Map one intent from search to delivery

Say your target search is "podcast shorts editor." The title, tags, first gallery asset, package units, FAQ, samples and requirements should all point at podcast-to-short-form editing. Toss in logo, SEO, data entry and AI keywords, and the Gig stops meaning anything.

  • Title: names the main deliverable.
  • Tags: reflect closely related service terms.
  • Gallery: proves the output visually.
  • Description: explains audience, scope and process.
  • Packages: use units clients can compare.
  • Delivery: fulfils the same promise consistently.

Calculate a sustainable price floor

Freelancers receive 80% of each completed purchase, extras and tips included, before tax. Your hourly return also has to absorb the hours nobody pays you for: messages, reviewing requirements, project setup, revisions, administration and portfolio updates.

Internal pricing worksheet Minimum package price = (delivery hours + admin hours + expected revision hours) x target hourly return / 0.80 + direct project costs

This is a planning model, not a promise that the market will accept the result. Adjust scope, process or target client if the price is not viable.

Example: 4 delivery hours plus 1 admin hour plus 1 expected revision hour at a target US$20 per hour comes to US$120 after the platform share. US$120 / 0.80 = US$150, before paid assets or tax. The exact number is not the point. A US$40 package cannot carry this workflow.

Let packages change scope, not competence

Basic should mean smaller, not sloppier. Cut the unit, the variants or the process, and keep the standard of work where it is. Standard can cover the most common complete use case. Premium adds volume, complexity, speed or source deliverables worth having.

Keep the comparison easy. When ten package variables change at once, clients cannot tell why the higher tier costs more.

Diagnose the funnel in order

ObservationPossible issue to investigateFirst experiment
Very few impressionsWeak relevance, availability, demand or account factorsTighten the service-intent match
Impressions but few clicksTitle, thumbnail, price context or positioningImprove one visible promise or proof element
Clicks but few messages/ordersScope, trust, samples, FAQ or value mismatchAdd relevant evidence and answer a key objection
Orders but cancellationsQualification, requirements, process or delivery gapFix scope and intake before seeking more traffic

Make changes in batches and write down the date. Fiverr warns that frequent small edits can temporarily affect visibility while a Gig is re-indexed. A handful of impressions is not a result.
