Reply to the project, not just the greeting
Fiverr's level metrics currently measure how often a freelancer replies to a new message within 24 hours over the previous 90 days. Speed matters, but a fast empty response is not useful. Acknowledge the goal, answer the direct question and request only the missing facts needed to assess fit.
Enquiry reply
"Thanks for the details. I can help with [deliverable]. To confirm the correct package and date, please send [two essential inputs]. Based on what you shared, the likely scope is [boundary]. I'll confirm price and timing after reviewing those items."
Fiverr's order guide says freelancers cannot initiate contact with new clients; the client must place an order or message first. Do not spam accounts or move the conversation outside the platform.
Confirm five things before the order
- Exact deliverables and excluded work.
- Inputs the client must supply and when.
- Total price and the correct Gig package or custom offer.
- Delivery date, time zone and dependencies.
- Revision boundary, source files, rights and any licence costs.
Scope confirmation
"To confirm: I will deliver [items] by [date/time zone] after receiving [inputs]. The order includes [revision rule] and excludes [items]. Final files will be [formats]. Please tell me now if any point differs from your expectation."
Send updates when they change confidence
For multi-day work, state your first step and the next checkpoint. Fiverr's current order-management guide recommends progress updates every two to three days. A useful update says what is complete, what happens next and whether the schedule or input needs changed.
Progress update
"Checkpoint: [completed item] is ready and [next item] is in progress. I need your answer on [specific question] by [time] to keep the agreed delivery date. Everything else remains on schedule."
Separate corrections from added scope
If a client requests something new, do not silently absorb it and later resent the project. Restate the original scope, explain the impact and offer an on-platform extra or custom follow-on order when appropriate.
Scope-change reply
"The new [feature/item] was not included in the agreed [package/offer]. I can add it for [price] with a revised delivery of [date], or complete the original scope on the current schedule. Which option would you prefer?"
Deliver with an acceptance map
Use Fiverr's delivery function for the actual completed work. Include a short inventory of files, how each requirement was met, essential usage instructions and any limitations. Test links and archives before uploading. Never submit an empty or incomplete placeholder merely to stop the clock.
Delivery note
"Delivered: [file list]. Acceptance checks: (1) [result], (2) [result], (3) [result]. To use the files, [short instruction]. Please review against the agreed scope; if a correction is needed, reference the file and requirement."
When a conversation becomes difficult
Stay factual. Quote the agreed requirement, describe the current result and propose one next step. Do not threaten, insult, manipulate reviews or ask for off-platform payment. If direct resolution fails, use the Resolution Center or Fiverr Support wi
